Tap and Die is a 90’s action story full of characters like Jack who use wands and lava gloves and slugs instead of guns on the set of an epic fantasy world. I’m releasing it serially over the course of 6 months — the first 25% is FREE and the rest requires a subscription: if you subscribe for at least 3 months, I will send you a hard copy before the book releases even if you don’t finish the story.
Black Jack had hopped down through the ducts weakened by the lightning holes. He had checked for bad guys, clothes, more brimstone ammo. Found none. He’d run to the large windows and looked up. He had watched as the knight descended the hillside with two horses. Had seen him looking over the edge.
He watched the knight come down the hillside, inspect the front. After a while, he saw Ser Forty coming back out again.
Stay! he wanted to shout.
He needed help rescuing Frey and Dövë. He pounded on the glass and started to call up a weave that would shatter or reposition it.
The door was kicked in by a brimstone weaver. Another brimstone weaver shouted and pointed at Jack.
Jack whirled, shooting lightning.
One man ducked. The second fired at Jack.
Their bolts met in midair.
