Pi Mysterium

… and the Mathematician Who Made Me Believe

“It simply goes on forever.”
I am not convinced.
Wary of things immeasurable,
Such as love, infinity,
Creator, existence.

Suppose you divide
Forever by four,
Now, forever is a fraction;
Leaping, and then diving
Toward no definitive action.

And, what did Stonehenge know of greek? –

Her transcendental rock, mineral-stacked
In sly mockery,
Asking that we compare
Holy ciphers to diameter,
When we were only just born;

Our eyes still milky
White with womb, water
Softening evolution’s stutter-
Giant heads stuck feasting
On the breast of
Our swollen mother-

Death.

O, great mirror in the sky
I see rapidly
Spinning nuclei.

“Keep equating, children.”
“It’s almost time to fly.”
