Description

The Spell of the Yukon is a song I wrote around a Robert W. Service poem after the late Malcolm Roberts introduced me to him in Alaska. Malcolm had asked me to do a cold reading of The Cremation of Sam McKee. After performing it and getting the room to laugh, he let me borrow the volume for the evening. I eventually came across this poem and have turned it into an anthemic ballad a la Gaelic music and Titanic.
