Fleep: Using Curiosity and Concern to Pull Readers Along

I’m constantly pushing my clients to develop curiosity and concern in their stories since both drive page turns. Curiosity powers the questions, “What’s is that? What did I just witness?”  Concern powers the question, “Will everything turn out okay?” And both lead to the question “What’s next?” which powers the turn of a page or the scroll of a mouse… or finger.

A perfect example of how curiosity can turn into deeper and deeper interest and then transform radically into concern is shigabook’s comic Fleep. It’s worth your time.
