there’s something

there is something to the act of letting go.
letting go of your wants and desires,
trading them for what becomes your needs
never realized.
in the sense that our very detailed, put-together
and controlled lives can be abandoned
with a single thought, replaced instead with a
primal desire for all to be right.
all to be right,
all to be right,
all to be right.
to see the sun succumb to the canopy of empty
tree limbs, and the chill of the evening
invade the pores of your exposed skin.
creating air that hasn’t been tainted with
the residue of human commotion, or
biased by our business.
it’s simply right,
it’s simply right,
it’s simply right.
take breathes that are in syncopation
with the leaves, and walk in rhythm with
the earth’s heartbeat.
begin to sing along with the birds, and
don’t miss a sight,
don’t miss a sight,
don’t miss a sight.
