The Convention and Visitor’s Bureau asked me to spearhead a new image of Joplin, Missouri to her visitors – the image of up-and-coming city.

To suit their unique needs, I wedded the local use of the phrase “Jack up and came to Joplin” to the idea of “up and comers.” With Joplin established as the up and coming here, I then consistently asked the reader are you here yet?
