Gunfights & Gamblin’ game review — Gen Con 2024

Larry got a copy of Gunfights & Gamblin’ after trying it out at the Mid Level Meeple table. They were super sweet and I ended up taking over for a guy who left early. It was late on Sunday, so I was done but we still got it down to a 9-to-10 loss. Literally ended in a shootout.

It’s an American West dice and card game involving betting and bluffing, secret unit deployment, and team dynamics.

It’s pretty whimsical and hilarious — sort of red team, blue team dynamics. Unlike others that function similarly, it’s not rewarding sociopathic behaviors and compulsive lying. I really enjoyed this one for the economic engine. And the team behavior certainly rewards folks for working together with the general humor of the piece.
