spring is my love

spring is my love

Today
a ballad of light!
A soft breeze brushes and blows
memories erased of      a dark winter.

I have been homesick for
spring and
trees.
Homesick for song and lush leaves;
cavernous and yearning to be filled entirely.

A jubilee of flowers, stalks reaching to downy clouds and satisfied stretch
Buds grasping through cool soil
reaching for light and familiar hold.

How long since last the embrace?
See me now – a shadow of past self!
No, not shadow: bright effervescence
grown from weak lustre

A warm hand touches

These are poems you can only write
When you’re in love
