We’re here and okay!

Hello all.

We’ve been pretty much home bound here in Brooklyn since last Wednesday (save one trip to Costco and two long walks with friends) and we’re making it.

Oh and Lance called in and picked up my insulin prescription from our local pharmacy, VLS, which I HIGHLY recommend. (Maybe another day I will write about the actual perils I’ve faced in getting scripts filled in NYC. It is not for the faint of heart.)

Right now I’d really love to be hosting and shopping for the elderly and having our neighbor kiddos over for crafts and stories and serving those experiencing homelessness but it’s wisest for me to lay low with my immune system already being compromised. So basically I have to act the opposite of who I am these days. We DO have a good idea for this Saturday, though, which involves everyone visiting our park at the same time, separately of course.

I’ve dusted, decluttered and reorganized a wedge shelf that I found on 36th St. and carried to work while walking our dog, Echo. I also went through our coffee, tea and mug hanging shelf above the sideboard in our kitchen. As I told a friend today via text, I do wish it was less cluttered, but these two pieces are basically our “office” and “drink station”. I also need to hang those numbers–our anniversary is 2/27/10–but I decided to dust the ceiling fan instead. Turns out everything looks more “high def” without a layer of dust on it.

Oh, we’ve also attended a Zoom meeting with our church community group, FaceTimed with our nieces and nephews and I have a Marco Polo conversation slash vlog going with my best friend from childhood that feels like a Matt Damon or Tom Hanks tragedy diary. “Day Five…”

We’ve made curried chicken soup with Israeli couscous (warm + carbs), cauliflower gnocchi with meat sauce (warm + less carbs) and waffles from scratch.

Next up: potato soup and some sort of pork cooked in the instant pot.

Today I spent far too much time watching decluttering videos on a YouTube channel.

Tomorrow shall be for reading. And possibly knitting.

What have you been doing? What would you like to do more of? Less of?

♥️ Tara

PS: I forgot to tell you: WE TURNED OFF OUR HOME INTERNET LIKE CRAZY PEOPLE AT THE BEGINNING OF MARCH.

PPS: Lance is going to FREAK OUT that I finally wrote a post. Also, if you’ve submitted for publication, please be patient with the team (back to the whole we don’t have internet at home and all the coffee shops in NYC are closed for stay in orders) and THANK YOU for your submission. All things in due time.
