It’s just the way things are, they never change,
told you I’ll tell you more later.
The world spins with or without us,
but know I wanted you here.
Speeches only work in the present
and old words can’t save you later.
And I can’t always be there.
I was looking for the secret of the universe
but I couldn’t find it in time.
Sand slips through an hourglass,
(you don’t know who flipped it over).
I wanted to present you the cure, a bouquet of flowers in arms outstretched.
The boys who love me never love their lives (I don’t know why, I don’t know. I really don’t know)
And I take it personal.
I told my best friend sometimes I feel nothing for hours at a time.
When I’m done taking it personal, it’s only cause I’m done feeling.
It’s not that serious,
it really is not.
There’s not much I can do alone.
They say it’s all written in the stars already.
Even before we start breathing.
