Seldom do I review apps because… because. But I’m constantly surprised by how few New Yorkers know of the best Weather NYC app out there. It uses micrometeorology and helps me stay out of the rain.

Basically, when we’re under an awning in Midtown or stuck in a subway in Brooklyn and we need to know whether or not to get out immediately and run for it or to wait another ten, twenty minutes, Tara opens Dark Sky. The app has saved us — and the crowds of people we’re in communication with — multiple, multiple times.

It’s worth whatever they’re charging these days: the meteorologist that follows you around so you don’t have to google weather NYC anymore.
