Fantastic Beasts Spoilers — Rancid Ep. 00

Some folks didn’t realize a couple years back, I secretly released a movie spoiler podcast called Rancid with Jeremiah Jones, Matt Otey, and my ever-present partner in crime, Mark Neuenschwander. Here’s episode zero, which sort of featured fantastic beasts spoilers.

As per usual, I don’t take responsibility for everything my collaborators say. But I did have fun with these Fantastic Beasts spoilers, so there’s that.

You can also find it on:

We basically had a few assumptions going into this podcast, especially this episode full of Fantastic Beasts spoilers:

  1. Matt didn’t have time to watch movies.
  2. Mark and I wanted to spoil movies for Matt to save him time and money.
  3. Mark took this too seriously and thought we would meticulously describe everything in detail to Matt, somehow saving him time.
  4. I assumed we would forget virtually everything significant about the film and that the spoiler wouldn’t be that great, so we’d joke around.
  5. We argued. Took some things seriously. Made some jokes. Achieved a nice blend, I think. The spoiler is half the length of the film, which shows it’s actually exceedingly difficult to properly spoil something. That’s kind of the point: our culture is over obsessed with viewer and reader virginity. I highlighted this in my MPAA Spoilers post.
  6. I was sick and full of steroids because of a severe reaction to poison sumac, which can also be seen below.
